Ashley Skinner, APRN
Nurse Practitioner
Ashley Skinner is a Family Nurse Practitioner that was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She began her career in healthcare began in 2011 when she graduated from the University of Louisville with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a nurse at UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY caring for patients on the trauma unit. When she worked at University Hospital in Louisville, KY she saw first hand the devastating complications of poorly controlled chronic conditions, such as asthma, COPD, high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. It was clear that quality primary care could have prevented many of the hospital admissions that she cared for.Â
She graduated from the University of Louisville in 2014 with her Masters of Science in Nursing. She has worked in primary care since that time in rural health clinics and busy metropolitan offices. She is a board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner to treat acute and chronic conditions in patients across the lifespan. She believes that the emphasis of care should be on the prevention of disease and on prevention of complications once the condition is present.
In addition to patient care, she enjoys music, all things Disney, history, reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Tricia Richardson, APRN
Nurse Practitioner
Tricia is a Family Nurse Practitioner from Louisville, KY. She began her career as a nurse when she graduated from the University of Louisville in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked in the Neonatal ICU caring for premature infants and critically ill newborns for 15 years.Â
She obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing from University of Phoenix in 2008. Once obtaining her Masters degree, she changed her role from bedside nurse to Nurse Manager and Nursing Clinical Instructor. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston with her Post-Masters degree. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner to diagnose, treat and prevent acute and chronic conditions in patients throughout the lifespan. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in a variety of settings including in-home Health Risk Assessments, urgent care, retail health clinics, and primary care. She believes in educating patients about their chronic conditions and health risk factors and assisting patients to make plans to control them. She believes that the primary prevention of disease and the prevention of disease complications is of the utmost importance.Â
In addition to patient care, she enjoys going to concerts with her daughter, cheering on UofL sports teams, and cuddling with her dogs.
